Saturday poem
Aug. 20th, 2005 09:21 pmI missed last week; I plead having been in Buffalo and being tired enough that it completely escaped my mind.
So this week is a special one; one of my favourites. I know they're all my favourites, but this one never fails to bring a smile to my face. Read it aloud; even the worst reader can't help falling into the right tones and rythm with it, quiet and intense. That's the best thing about an Angelou poem; they are not silent poems.
( Still I Rise, by Maya Angelou. )
