Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold.
Jun. 21st, 2005 12:00 amSo I'm reading
lifelongmanic's post about her prom and I'm all teary-eyed. I am SUCH a sap. I'm glad it was wonderful, sweetie; I'm glad you had such good friends to spend it with; I'm glad your first-ever slow dance was with a guy as nice as Simon is, even if there's nothing beyond friendship there at all; I'm glad you felt beautiful in your princess dress, because you _were_; I'm glad it was wonderful.
I know I said this in the card I got you, but I am so damn proud of you, and I love you very much. You'll always be my little sister, even after you're finished growing up, and believe me when I tell you that the best is yet to come, and that you can do _anything_. I know it's corny, and I know it's a cliché, but for you it is true. You're smart and funny and determined, and you work hard, and you care about people. That's special. Don't ever lose that.
Love you forever,
Em
