For Quiva, as promised
Jul. 20th, 2003 06:10 pmFor
quiva, my answers to
ashkitty's 100-word challenge. They go together.
It’s gibbous tonight, he thinks. Times like this, he gets a glimpse of what
it must be like to see a full moon… the ‘ghostly galleon’ a Muggle poet
wrote about once. He doesn’t remember much of the rest of the poem
specifically, except that it was about a highwayman who told his love to
watch for him by the moonlight, that they’d meet by moonlight, ‘though hell
should bar the way’. He feels a breeze, and turns to see his own outlaw, and
he knows how beautiful the full moon must be, and doesn’t feel the lack so
keenly.
and
He stands a little way off, watching. That near-full moon, that promise of
pain and agony and joyful wildness as they run under it tomorrow, lights up
Remus’ face. He can see the longing in those eyes of his, mingled with
resignation. The marks of the moon are on his face, and Sirius decides his
Moony has mooned about long enough. So he goes over to him, and Remus turns,
and the longing in his eyes turns to silver as they catch the moonlight.
Tomorrow they will run. Tonight… “Come and walk with me?There’s not a cloud
in the sky.”

Can I be your first fangirl?
