The Student's Dilemna

I am coughy and achy and probably have a fever considering the way I've been freezing and shaky for two days now.

I also have a lab tomorrow, which I cannot afford to miss as I have already missed one this semester. I do not technically have to go, but if I don't people will be annoyed with me for missing class. On the other hand, if I do go, people will be annoyed with me for potentially making them sick.

This sucks and I'm having trouble thinking about it as my head has been hurting since Friday and it got bad enough today that I caved and took a Tylenol. Keep in mind I only used one of my pain pills after I had all four of my wisdom teeth out, and I hate taking meds. My head still hurts.



And I can't find the box of tampons I bought last month, so I'm using my Emergency Backup / Period Due But Not Started Yet Pads, which are HORRIBLE and I hate them because they're so MESSY and if I lean forward at all the blood runs off the front, and if I lean backwards at all, the blood runs off the back, and I HATE THEM SO MUCH and I feel too lousy to get down to the pharmacy and buy something decent. Absorbent layer MY ASS.

Weird that when I was eleven and they were giving us the "okay, here's what you do, there are two options" speech, I was all "ew! tampons! No WAY IN HELL am I sticking something up there, it's a paddy life for me thanks" and now I'm convinced that pads are unsanitary and ick. Cus those wings? They just help the blood channel around your panties so it can stain your jeans. Ew.

I think you should see how you feel in the morning. If you don't feel any better, stay home, but if you feel at least a little better and feel like you'll be able to handle it, go to class.

There's a cold going around. There is no escaping it. Take an Advil cold and sinus (it has ibuprofen, also works for period stuff too) and get a nice sleep in with those cool decongestant dreams.

p.s. want disgusting? be so tired (this was post-baby gigantic flood time) and in the dark be changing those winged pads and forget to remove the plastic thingie covering the wings. Not very pretty at all. The pad was nice and clean though.

Do what I do: take a dose of nyquil, two advil, three echinacia (for good luck), go into school, and don't tell anyone that you're ill. When they get sick, look really innocent and say "I'm so sorry."
