It's 458 miles to Rivendell. If you go look up on the EowynChallenge site and scroll down to the link that says something like 'original Walk to Rivendell' or something to that effect about halfway down, you can find links off to mile counts for all of the major legs of the travelling in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. I'll be going there soon to get my mile counter for the next leg, which is Rivendell->Lothlorien. :)
My goal is to get an hour at the gym three times a week. I'm thinking Saturdays and after work - so Saturdays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Half of that is doing weight work, and the rest is the rowing machine and the cross-country-skiing machine - hooray for low-impact stuff. (I have a knee which complains occasionally, occupational hazard of being a goalie since we twist them in ways knees really shouldn't be twisted).
Plus stretching, of course. It's important to stretch.
Nope - I have a good idea of how long it _should_ take me, given 10.5 kilometres a week average (or planned average, at any rate - assume Christmas won't be so good, or exam periods) at the gym, but I don't have any particular deadlines.
Not like I've got a ring to destroy in order to save the world or anything ;)
