I was hanging around talking with prof. N. and friend R. today, and the subject of 'Serenity' came up. I half-jokingly asked N. if he wanted to drive to St. John's to see it, and R. mentioned that the Majestic theatre, here in Corner Brook, had preview posters up and was going to show it.

I was so happy I could have kissed him. (Actually, I did, but shhh! don't tell his wife. It was more of a smooch on the cheek, anyway.)

So yeah. I am THRILLED. And I am going to see the Wallace and Grommit movie with roomie R this weekend, and on Thanksgiving we're cooking a turkey, so this is good.

My polisci test went passably well, I thought. I explained my points well. Not entirely sure the question I answered was the one she was asking, though, and I mixed up plebiscitary democracy with deliberative democracy.

Oh, and I've put together all the stuff for a Hallowe'en costume. It's totally bad-ass. Sort of.

EXCELLENT! You will have to tell us how many Jayne Hats you spot in the crowd. It brought a tear to my eye to see all the Jayne Hats in Seattle's Browncoat crowd.

I have knitting friends who have been making noises about getting the pattern!

LOL! Not that I have been informed, but hey, the ways and mysteries of knitting are strange and, um, mysterious to me! ;)

My gran taught me how to knit when I was seven; sadly, she died shortly afterwards, and I have since forgotten everything except that I wasn't very good at it. I have very short, thick fingers (ever see a two-year-old's hands? Mine are proportioned exactly like that. Big palm, tiny wide fingers.), leading to a lack of manual dexterity when it comes to small fiddly things.

I can kind of see that, I think... though if it's any consolation, [livejournal.com profile] kathrynt has taken up knitting with a vengeance, and from what you're telling me, your hands sound similar to hers. This is the same woman who for months swore up and down to me that she didn't have the physical coordination to play a musical instrument, either--and yet, she didn't do half-bad with the harp. :)

hello, hello...

have you by any chance seen Serenity yet? It was quite good. I would like to see Wallace and Gromit as well, tell me how it is!
