Heehee, I am now a redhead as much as I will ever be without bleaching my hair!

It's now a very coppery shade of dark brown. I like it a lot. I'm growing it out again, too, which isn't hard as my hair grows quite fast. Past my shoulders already, and it was at my chin in April.

Also, have been LJ-introdiced to one of my roommates for this year (or as long as she sticks around; I gather the apartments weren't her first choice so presumably she'll move if a dorm room opens up for her), and she's a friend of someone I know to have... discerning taste in friends, so she should be okay :) I have discovered that she's quiet, which is a good thing.

Me with both of my tall friends (I'm in heels there!)

Hurrah! So are they really tall or are you a bit short too? ; )
You are cute and sort of hobbity. (My favourite kind of person.) I think it's the curly hair and nice smile.

From: [identity profile] framlingem.livejournal.com
They are 5'11" and 5'9" (blonde and brunette, respectively), and I am 5'3.5", so it's a combo of both :)

I am very definitely a hobbit - down to hair on my feet (though not quite as thick and curly as Tolkien hobbits); one of my old nicknames within a certain group of people is actually Pippin. My only problem with my physcal appearance is that my eyes are lightly almond-shaped, so they go all squinty when I smile. When I'm really happy, I'm blind. :p

Ah, so you're short, but you're no [livejournal.com profile] ladyshrew? ^_~

Yay! I have foot-hair too! Er, over-excited a bit there, maybe. But not many people mention it. But I guess it doesn't come up in conversation much either.

Hm, isn't almond-shaped supposed to be like the most attractive shape for eyes? It comes up in books a bunch anyway, but I always thought pretty much everyone's eyes were more or less almond-shaped...

I'm within the average range, but very definitely on the low end of it. I also have stubby arms, and as such am the only member of the family who needs to get a chair when asked to get the good glasses down from the top shelf.

We should have a hairy-feet convention. Mine's sort of concentrated on my big toe.

Almond-shaped is not the best descriptor for it, I agree. I prefer legerement bride (pretend the appropriate accents are there - aigu on the last e)

Yay we should! My sister and mother have a bit too. Mine's also mostly on the knuckles of my big toes, but I've got like 7 hairs or so on the top of each foot as well.

Ah, bridé, hurrah I learnt a new word. ; )

Oh and someone else showed me recently it's really easy to input accents in html like this. "& eacute ;" without the quotation marks and spaces works. Then other accents follow a similar pattern, and they're all at the bottom of this page (http://www.degraeve.com/reference/specialcharacters.php). If you find that helpful at all. It's much easier than getting out the character map every time, I think.

Can I join the hairy feet club? I have hair on the knuckles of all my toes, but it's most prominent on the big toe.

C'est les yeux bridés que j'ai, moi.

I like to think they make me look exotic :p I stand in front of the mirror practicing my Mysterious and Alluring Smile (tm).

It is a good word, isn't it?

I have a French-language keyboard at home; my parents isn't configurable for French :p I'm going home in a month, so I'll be able to just type properly. Can't wait.

Et moi, j'ai les yeux bruns. ; )

Hm, yes, you do a bit. Though it'd probably be easier to see on a close-up face picture.

It is a nice word. My dictionary didn't really enjoy translating it, and gave me English words I don't really know/use, but I think I've got the jist of it.

Ohh, cool. I used to have my keyboard on Windows set up for the Japanese or French keyboards, but now that I'm on Linux, I think I can only get one other, without changing my keyboard settings somewhat-permanently, so I'm sticking with an English keyboard, with Japanese input, and using tricks to get other accents in.

I love my keyboard; except people who aren't me and need to type on my computer keep winding up with strange characters in place of punctuation, because everything's in a different place!

As far as colour goes, my eyes are either green or grey, depending on which bit of ID you're looking at!

From: [identity profile] decken.livejournal.com
Is your keyboard marked as a French one, or is it an English one that just thinks it's French? It's such fun switching keyboards. But it hurts my fingers to relearn where they need to go to type.

Ohh that colour of eye! I knew a boy in high school who had eyes that were either green or grey, depending on what he was wearing. It was like hazel, but they weren't really brown.

Date: 2005-08-09 06:31 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] framlingem.livejournal.com
It's marked as a French one; with CTRL-SHIFT-SOMETHING, I can have it as an English configuration, though. I asked for a Frnech one because that's what I learned to type on.

The red hair makes my eyes look greener, I think. And when I wear green or purple, they look green, too. Blues and blacks make them look grey. But yes, hazel is the official term even without the brown.

Oh cool, you lucky Québécois and your bilingual options!

I would imagine so, since it's a common combination. Well, more so than green eyes + any other hair colour, I think.

Ah, I always pictured hazel as that light brown that sometimes looked other colours. Didn't know it could be that one too.

And our accent is all cool and hissy! And our cusses kick ass and sound very, very angry, mon oestie.

Green and brown's not that rare, either. I think green's rarest with blonde, but I could be wrong. I think it's because of the contrast; opposites on the colour wheel tend to enhance each other.

I think hazel is officially the word used to describe eyes which sometimes appear to be one colour, and sometimes another. In french c'est des yeux pers.

Yes, Quebecois swearing is cool, especially when you combine French and English, like, "Sht the crisse fucking tabarnak!" Or when you just string a bunch of words together, like, "Calisse de crisse de tabarnak de ostie!" And also, the Quebecois are allowed to say "shit" and "fuck" on TV ;)

Cool! *_* Ça signife quoi, un oestie? o.O;

Hm, you read a lot about green eyes and black hair in books, but I don't think I've ever seen that one.

That's probably right about the colours enhancing each other. I was thinking some last night about hazel eyes and er how they work with changing colours. Yup...

Gosh. I am learning French words all over the place. (Or just here.)

Er... it's not very polite. Ending a phrase with "mon oestie" serves as emphasis on the rest of the sentence, like this: I love hamburgers, damnit.

For a guide to Quebec cussing, go here. I will not be directly responsible for your corruption ;) : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_French_profanity
