Ye gads, is it ever windy and wet out there. Quite creepy.
No trick or treaters! *sulks* I know there are little kids around here. Heck, there's a four-year-old in the apartment under mine! And we made no secret of us having candy. Boo.
I don't get as excited about Hallowe'en as I used to, even after I stopped going out and started manning the door. It just seems all far away, and it's an indicator that the end of the semester's a month or so away. I get more excited about the fact that Christmas is coming up in a month and three-quarters. I love Christmas. I especially love Christmas supper, sitting crowded around a densely packed table, laughing and making jokes and getting into punning contests with Dad, and seeing Uncle Ken's paper crown split around his big head while mine falls down over my nose, and hunting under the table to find the plastic thing that flew out of a cracker and ricocheted around the room, and not drinking wine, and getting teased about how I'm old enough now, I can drink if I want to. I have a good family, and a good 'adopted' family in the McK's (put us together and there's nearly as many of us as there are Weasleys!). I'm lucky.
Yay, Hallowe'en! No holidays left until Christmas!
(Well, there's Guy Fawkes, which is Bonfire Night here in Newfoundland. It doesn't have anything to do with GF and Parliament here, it's just an excuse to drink and burn stuff.)
