All three of my roommates have gone home (two to somewhere up on the Northern Peninsula, four hours away, and one to Lark's Harbour, which is right at the tip of the Bay of Islands), so I'm basking in having the place to myself - so far I have sung three Meat Loaf songs, two Tori Amos ones ("Past the Mission" and "Baker Baker"), a Melissa Etheridge one ("Scarecrow" - I do a pretty good rendition of that one), and several repetitions of "Loch Lomond", as arranged by Runrig, using my feet for drums. (Yes, the family underneath has gone out, or I wouldn't do that). I'm getting a lot better at staying on key - I hit the right notes three quarters of the time, now! Go me!
(I have enough of an ear to tell when I'm getting it wrong, but not enough of an ear to get it right easily. Boo. The voice itself is okay - nothing special, but not a croak - but my technical skills need work.)
I love the piano bit at the beginning of "Anything For Love". *fangirls Meat Loaf*
I'm also rereading "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" in an effort to keep the fic I'm writing as canon-compatible as humanly possible. I have managed to work elephants into it, though. I like elephants.
I got a compliment on my penmanship today! That's... never, ever happened before. I must be getting better. Usually it's people telling me to slow down and take care; maybe it's because I was printing? My printing's pretty neat - it's had to be, since I have a lot of labelling to do in a lot of very small spaces. My cursive, on the other hand, looks more like Arabic than anything written in the Latin alphabet.
I have muffins.
Mmm, Muffins.
I'm going to write now. My brain's doing it's six-year-old-with-an-enthusiasm-babbling sort of thing again, so I may as well make it babble about what I want it to babble about.
