framlingem: (study study study)
To-do list to be completed by Friday:

- Write responses to Joyce's "Araby" and Laurence's "The Odour of Crysanthemums".
- Outline for Behn essay
- 1500 1200250 words on narrative voice in Aphra Behn's "Oroonoko". HAHAHAHA DONE
- Outline for Chekhov essay
-1250 words on realism in "The Cherry Orchard"
- Find a secondary source to use for an argument about asexuality as portrayed in J.G. Sime's "The Bachelor Woman". This is going to be a PITA because nobody writes papers about asexuality in 1940s Canadian short fiction. YET. This will change by next week.
- e-mail Canlit prof to check that that's a decent topic, and ask if broadening it to include non-heteronormative sexuality in the entire short-story-cycle would be a better choice.
- tidy room
- pick up credit card from bank branch
- get ears re-pierced. (Because I got some beautiful, beautiful silver and cubic zirconia dangly earrings from H. Samuel for Christmas, and it's such a waste having them in a box)
- Pick up books that Coles ordered in for me.
- Order pizza (never mind, got Subway instead), because that frees up large quantities of time I'd spend cooking otherwise.
framlingem: (here comes the sun)
Some mornings the curtains
open
and I can see out.
I can see clearly -
no more gauzy separation,
no dim shadows, just sunshine.
Sunshine or clouds or birds in the trees,
dirt on the ground,
just on the other side of the glass.
The glass is marked with foreheadprints,
noseprints,
handprints,
cheekprints,
and on the other side there is the world.
Some mornings the curtains open
           and at
                     night
                               they
close.
