Nov. 1st, 2007 10:21 pmToday, I had a Day Off. Pre-scheduled, so as not to incur an Occurence! (Too many Occurences result in a Corrective Action Plan, you see. *eyeroll*)
It was MARVELOUS and just what I needed, even if it did confuse my roommates somewhat. "Em? Em? It's ten o'clock. Shouldn't you be at work?"
Note to self: Next time, make roommates aware you have a day off so they don't panic on your behalf.
The weather was perfect for a day off, too. We're starting to get the fringes of Noel, and it's going to worsen over the weekend as the storm heads up towards Greenland (where, ironically, it will be reclassified as a tropical depression, down from the Category One Hurricane it is expected to be as it brushes Newfoundland's West Coast. Never thought Greenland would have tropical anything, did you? :p). I will be up fairly early in the morning as I'm taking Sally to have snow tires put on, and then I'll nip over to the grocery store and buy milk, and then I'll spend the rest of the day drinking hot chocolate and Not Being Out In The Rain.
I'll have another day off later in November. I was going to call it Totally Random, except it's not, since it's American Thanksgiving. It'll be nice, though, as everything here will be open. Granted, I don't get Remembrance Day off at all, but it's a fair trade.
