In other news, I am listening to nothing but Pavarotti tonight. I am currently watching a video on Youtube of him and Bono singing "Miserere".

Watching him sing on television, alone and with others, he always seemed like someone I would have liked to have met. I'm sad I will never get the opportunity; sadder still I will never see him in person; glad that I lived in a time when he was alive; glad that he lived in a time when his singing could be recorded with the clarity that it has been, so that it won't be lost.

He's a loss to Music, not just to Opera.

Every so often a friend gives me a much-needed metaphorical kick in the ass by pointing out to me when I'm not doing something I should (which, in my case, is a lot more common than doing things I shouldn't) and, as happens a lot because as a rule I'm pretty oblivious, I don't realise that I'm not Keeping Up My End Of The Bargain. I am lucky to have such friends. *loves and will try to do better*
