Heehee, I am now a redhead as much as I will ever be without bleaching my hair!

It's now a very coppery shade of dark brown. I like it a lot. I'm growing it out again, too, which isn't hard as my hair grows quite fast. Past my shoulders already, and it was at my chin in April.

Also, have been LJ-introdiced to one of my roommates for this year (or as long as she sticks around; I gather the apartments weren't her first choice so presumably she'll move if a dorm room opens up for her), and she's a friend of someone I know to have... discerning taste in friends, so she should be okay :) I have discovered that she's quiet, which is a good thing.

Getting the classes I need is turning out to be a _bitch_ this semester.

GARRRRRGGGH!

Right now I'm signed up for three things, just so I can have the minimum to be a full-time student. I don't really _want_ to take an intro to Polisci (though it'd be useful); what I want is Earth Science and Enviro. Sci. courses which I don't have prereqs for officially, even though I have the knowledge. I'm going to be spending the first week running around getting things signed by profs. I _hate_ not knowing what I'll be doing.

I was to my local (read: half an hour's drive away.) comic store today to catch up on the ones I'm following. The employee who was there has only seen me once before; still, I walked through the door and he headed for the back and brought me out a copy of the second Firefly comic. I'd put the first one on order, you see, and he'd put the second aside for me without me even asking him to, because he thought I might be wanting it.

How seriously cool is that? If anyone's curious, I got the Zoe cover. I don't really have cover preferences, since they're all _gorgeous_, but I do like Zoe quite a bit. I'd have been happy with anything, though, as Firefly is one of the few series where I love all the characters. Mal is cool, and Wash is, well, me, Zoe is so strong, and Kaylee is sweet, and Book is complex as Jayne is simple, Inara's all exotic, mysterious, and usually exasperated, Simon tries so hard to be charming that you can't help liking the guy, and River is just too funky. Such a great cast of characters, and all so very real.
