Ooh, I'm self-centered today...

I was in my kitchen, making fajitas for lunch (Em-style... less fuss, less muss... use leftover sausage from Dad's previous-night grease-fest, heat up in microwave, melt cheddar over them and add chopped up cucumber... mmm), and listening to the news on the radio. Lots of bad, important stuff. Then I catch a glimpse of myself in the microwave door, and the CBC is cut off with thoughts of 'man, these new jeans make my butt look nice'. Oops. So, in honour of the totally self-absorbed, 'forget the world, mememe' attitude... (I do hope the cut works)



1. I'm an immigrant.
2. So I have dual Canada/UK citizenship.
3. Which caused havok trying to put me on a group visa when I went to China with some other students from my high school.
4. I published my first poem when I was seven, in the Montreal Gazette. It was about autumn leaves.
5. And they got the words mixed up.
6. I STILL haven't published any prose. Er... that I've gotten paid for.
7. I have, however, published a short play.
8. My first word was 'more'
9. So was my sister's. Coicidence? I think not.
10. I'm an INFP!
11. I've been a member of WAGGGS (girl guides/scouts) since I was five.
12. The best award I ever got was my Chief Commissioner's Gold Award. It's all shiny and I get to wear it on my uniform.
13. I don't have a favorite colour.
14. But I hate orange with a vengeance, except for Hallowe'en.
15. My shot-put personal best is 8.68 metres with a six-pound shot.
16. I've had my CPR and first aid certificates (with periodic refresher courses) since I was eleven.
17. I work at a muffin place (which isn't Tim Horton's)
18. I'm heartily sick of muffins.
19. My favorite guy actor is Sean Bean.
20. My favorite gal actor is Cate Blanchett.
21. My favorite play is Macbeth.
22. My favorite movie is Gattaca.
23. I have eight feet of Star Wars books (placed upright, not end-to-end, and all paperback) in my basement.
24. I learned to read when I was two.
25. The first book I ever read was 'Uncle Scrooge and the Haunted House Party'
25. The first novel I read was 'The Poison Pen', a Nancy Drew one, when I was five.
26. I'm currently going through all the Redwall books again.
27. The first thing my high school best friend ever said to me was 'My name's not Priscilla.'
28. Said best friend has committed the Mary-Sue crime many times... but at least I got to be the sidekick!
29. My current pet peeve is that they don't make trousers for short fat people. Apparently every size sixteen person in the world tops six feet.
30. Beethoven and Tchaikovsky are tied in the 'favorite composer' category.
31. I think that Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' is the most brilliant rock album EVER.
32. But Great Big Sea is, and will be for a long, long time, my favorite band.
33. I saw them in November! Twice!
34. And collected kisses from the band on Saturday...
35. They are all much taller than I am...
36. My high school class is full of short people. At 5'4", I'm one of the tallest of us. (among the gals, that is)
37. The first fanfiction i ever read was 'Retribution', by Iris Bailey.
38. The first fanfic I ever WROTE was about the Hardy boys, when i was five.
39. The next one I wrote was a Gundam Wing fanfic, when I was seventeen.
40. I didn't lose my last baby tooth until I was fourteen.
41. And I didn't pierce my ears until I was sixteen.
42. If I ever pierce a non-ear bit of my body, it's going to be my eyebrow, because the other options kinda squick me out.
43. If I ever get a tattoo, it'll be a green dragon around a wrist, so I can cover it with a watch if I need to.
44. My big ambition is to set foot on every continent before I turn forty. So far, so good - got the whole Northern hemispher down!
45. My dream trip is being on a team to study the ecology of Antarctica.
46. I want to be a field naturalist when I'm done school.
47. Unfortunately, school seems to go on further and further and further...
48. I'm fluent in french.
49. I'm an actress with the only bilingual theatre company in Quebec, professional or amateur.
50. My biggest role so far was the Baker's Wife in 'Into the Woods'.
51. I'm a scientific pantheist.
52. I still want to be an astronaut.
53. By the end of February, I'll not only be qualified to be ON a field team, but I'll have qualified to lead one.
54. I can sit and watch the ocean for hours.
55. I am not a morning person.
56. I don't like coffee.
57. I am, however, addicted to hot chocolate.
58. Chocolate in any form is good, actually.
59. Unless it has nuts in it. I can't stand the edible variety of nuts.
60. I like my pizza with lots of cheese, and nothing else.
61. The first outdoor concert i ever went to was Styx.
62. The first concert I ever went to was Celine Dion.
63. I love to sing, but don't do a very good job of it.
64. I want to learn how to play the bodhran.
65. It was going to be the bagpipes until i remembered what badly played bagpipes sound like (think cats and blenders)
66. I play the clarinet well enough to not sound like a duck with a bad cold.
67. I think Leo DiCaprio can act. Just because he's too pretty for words doesn't take away from that.
68. I want a 'Spear Britney' t-shirt.
69. I run a Sparks group. They would flip over such a t-shirt - they think she's cool.
70. I collect dust. :p
71. I also collect beer bottle caps.
72. I look like my great grandmother on my mother's side.
73. Which is weird, because my cousin on my father's side looks like me.
74. My favorite relative is my auntie Pam, who has cerebral palsy and is five on a good day.
75. I have bipolar disorder and DPD.
76. They don't have me anymore. I WON, man.
77. I play goalie on a ringette team.
78. My car's name is Estelle, derived from STL (sci-fi fans, you should get that one!)
79. Here's a hint - I first learned about FTL travel by reading Anne McCaffrey's 'Sassinak'.
80. I have neopets... *ducks in shame*
81. I wrote my high school final project in three days and got 98%
82. I'm easily dis- oh look! A bird!
83. I failed Moral Ed. twice.
84. I stand by my opinions, like I think marijuana should be decriminalised. See #83.
85. I have never been drunk, or smoked anything. Ever.
86. I had my first beer at the age of two, when I stole my dad's from where he'd left it on the floor.
87. My guilty pleasure is Quik chocolate powder... straight.
88. I'm captain of the college trivia team.
89. I have a crush on the captain of Vanier's trivia team.
90. For some reason, I'm the only woman on any of the league's teams.
91. The character trait that most turns me off is pomposity.
92. Arrogance comes second.
93. My favorite musicals are The Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon.
94. My bedroom is yellow and blue.
95. I'd love to get paid to write, one day. But i don't want to work for a paper.
96. My favorite poet is Robert Service.
97. I was named after Emilys (Emilies?) Bronte and Dickinson.
98. I talk either not at all or far too much.
99. My dream car is actually a bike... I want a red Ducati.
100. The person I'd most like to meet and speak with is Stephen Hawking.
