My friends rock :)
Dec. 29th, 2002 09:29 pm(quick hand update - much better, except for the thumb, so I can type again)
I went out for Christmas dinner (I know, I know, we're late) with my buddies tonight. Mmm... Barbie's does a really good poutine and cheeseburger. I can feel my arteries hardening. And we had two slices of concentrated calories (otherwise known as Chocolate Suicide Cake and Strawberry Cheesecake!) with four forks. And the waiter was very nice, even if his English wasn't the best. We get confising when we order (and that pitcher of water never did show, come to think of it).
But the gift exchange went well. Katherine got a copy of The Hobbit, because she keeps getting confused when Mariko and I talk about the Lord of the Rings - it's kinda funny actually, her eyes glaze over! Victoria laughed at the Perfect Man calender (eg - under of a picture of a teddy bear, it says 'the Perfect Man - he's cute, he's cuddly, and he doesn't mind getting tossed onto the bed'), and Mariko's eyes went 0_0 when she opened the dragon and wizard snowglobe thing I found for her. It's beautiful.
Present-wise, I got this really nifty clock - they know me. The tick's not loud, and it has a Harley Davidson on it! I also got a notebook to keep a travel diary in over my England trip, and a Chewbacca action figure (there's a story there involving a roaring contest, which I should have won but didn't). Mariko gave me a jewelry box with a post-it saying 'not what you think it is'. I thought she was going to propose until I read the post-it :p. It turned out to be a necklace from Excalibur, just the kind I like best, a simple chain-and-pendant gothic dealy with a red stone. I may become a goth on the basis of this necklace... then again, maybe not. I love bright colours too much. I haven't had a new necklace in ages. *happy*
And i LOVE that clock. I'll use it for my alarm tomorrow, see what it sounds like (Harley revving?)
England tomorrow! I can't wait. My mother can go worry over someone else about me, because I won't be here.
'Night all. (hee... makes it sounds like there's a lot of people actually read this...
