Some old friends of mine are going to have a hockey game. These are people I haven't seen in a long time, and I would very much like to go mind the goal for them, as it has been FOREVER since I have been struck about the torso and legs with small hard fast-moving objects which could theoretically kill me if they hit my throat. (It sounds a bit stupid when I put it that way, doesn't it?)

Problem? The Ex is going to be there.

I really, really, really do not want to see him. And while it would be nice to have my big-ass goalie stick on hand if I do... I'd rather not. I don't like confrontation. I hate awkwardness even more.

I wonder if I'll be able to avoid him? Even if he doesn't want to be avoided?

...I don't know if I'll be able to do it.

I will go, if I can. It's a bit personal, and terribly complicated (partly my fault, as well), and just... awkward. But hey. Hockey is life; the rest is just details ;)
