Mar. 15th, 2012 02:34 pmYou know, I think my favourite part of this tutoring gig is hearing that something I've said gave a student the ability to surprise their teacher. When my sec 5 students started doing trigonometry, I told them about some real-world applications that use it and some phenomena which can be described using trig, and when they started sine functions yesterday, one of them got to raise his hand and say "like sound waves, Miss?" and then tell his class about how that made the Doppler Effect.
I grinned like an idiot when he told me about it. It was so cool.
