I'm a wee bit excited. I really love the team we have this year (with the exception of not having James Wisniewski aboard. I liked him a lot, even though I knew he was a stopgap measure who was only aboard for the one season). I don't know if they're a Cup team, but darnit, they have the potential to be. They've added size in the offseason with a couple of canny trades, they've got a good mix of young guys and experience, they have a goalie who can play lights-out-blinding hockey when he's on, and they are MY BOYS and so I'm a tad biased. They are at the least a playoff team, in my opinion. More than that if Markov's knee holds out.
Please, oh please, let Markov's knee hold out. With him, our defense is superb. Without him, it's still good, but is composed of people who are playing more minutes than they're really suited for.
