Sep. 1st, 2010 06:18 pmLike most people, I very much prefer that my Facebook and my Livejournal do not cross paths. I'm friends with some of you on both, and I don't tend to post anything I'm not up for the world to see on either, but on the whole I do definitely want them seperate, because the stuff I post here under friendslock is locked for a very good reason. I've e-mailed livejournal asking for a "please disable this function on comments to my journal" button, and, while it's something they really should have included in the first place, they've been pretty good about fixing such things in the past. In the meantime, though I'm pretty sure I don't have to ask, please don't check that box here. Thanks :)
In other news, I depart for Newfoundland on Friday. With a bit of luck, I won't be making the ferry crossing in a hurricane, but I'm not hugely worried about doing so. I don't get motion sick, and those ferries are arguably the toughest in the world. I've gotten my parents' house about as clean as I can (which is to say about half as clean as my mother gets it. She's gifted in that area.) and have dropped the birds off at the budgiesitter's place, much to the disgust of Ollie, who is houseproud, and to the terror of Indy, who DOES NOT LIKE WHEN THINGS CHANGE.
Seriously. I had to move their cage to the kitchen to clean it, and the poor wee mite sat where the cage was supposed to be and peeped piteously the whole time.
I'm looking forward to my drive up. I love long drives, I love finding roadside diner places, I love the freedom of it. I love my car. It's not the most comfortable car in the world, but the driver's seat fits me perfectly, which is nice, and I feel like I belong in it. I know its vibrations, and the little noises it makes, and what it sounds like when I shift gear. It's my car. I'm its driver. It's nice.
