(no subject)

I am not going to do that "privilege meme". Mostly because I know damn well how lucky I was to have grown up in the manner I grew up in, but also partly because now life is what I will make of it, and the opportunities I had do not mean I will continue to have such opportunities, though they've given me a good start in that I am literate and relatively good at communicating. I am a single person with no dependents - anything that happens to and for me is therefore going to be my own fault.

And THAT is a privilege indeed - the privilege to not have one's fate impinge on or be impinged up by other fates. I don't know if I'm more or less than the sum of my parts, but I'm not equal to it.

Not that I'd mind a little impinging from time to time, ifyaknowwhatimean. >.>
