Sep. 1st, 2007 10:13 pmI signed up for overtime today. (got six hours at 15 an hour! That's ninety dollars, which is rather a lot of money and hopefully a snow tire for this winter.)
It was neat. I was originally just going to get ahead on work a bit, but the managerial staff was short-handed and I got asked to do floor support and MOD instead. MOD is Manager On Duty, who keeps the call centre productive by running around like a chicken with no head to tell people "the queue is getting high, you need to stop documenting and take a call now". I managed to do it without pissing anyone off. Good times.
Floor support was fun. Floor support is answering flags that people hold up when they need help, or goodwill or a dissatisfied closing signed off on. One of the agents said I "made [them] feel more confident", which made me feel like the queen of the world.
Knowing how to do MOD looks good on applications for promotion, as does floor support; I am taking being asked to do it this time as a good sign that my application from last week has a good shot.
Wheeeeeeeee.
