Why yes, sir! It is unusual for an engine to fail completely on a vehicle that's less than two years old!

It's not, however, unusual for an engine to fail completely on a vehicle which has not had its oil filter changed in nearly two years.

Believe it or not, your unchanged oil filter (and we know you haven't changed it because it's the factory one, and you can't _get_ those any other way) trumps the age. Really.

Oh, you have a trusted employee of ten years who's been doing your vehicle maintenance? Might want to have a word with him.

(This is fairly indicative of my Day At Work. The only bright spot was getting to play detective on a case for someone. I solved it and found the Sooper Sekrit Lab and discovered the myriad cruel and unusual things they do to used motor oil there.)
