I have successfully baked a cake!
Jul. 1st, 2005 03:37 pmThose of you who remember my last culinary invention, the Chocolate Stabwound Panic Cake, may be shaking your heads in disbelief and saying "no! It cannot be! Em cannot bake cakes!" but I assure you it is, in fact, true!
I'm quite proud of this one. I let it cool for a couple of hours before icing it and everything. I made a Canada Flag cake, with the red parts done in strawberries. It looks really neat, and I got to eat the leftover strawberry bits, which is always a plus. They're from a field about ten minutes down the road, and SO GOOD.
The rain has let up and it is now hailing. This is okay, because we need ice in our drinks anyway ;) Added to which, hailstones are just plain cool. You can cut one in half and see exactly how it was made, rising and falling in the atmosphere, layer upon layer of ice. Some of you may not be as enthused by this as I am, but I get geekily excited about weather.
