Stole Wars: A New Pope
Apr. 21st, 2005 11:01 am(I am 99% sure someone's already made that joke. But I am dorky and so will keep it).
I would have liked a more... liberal Pope, to be honest. I can forgive the Nazi Youth thing because it was mandatory, but his actions since aren't particularly open-minded or tolerant, particularly the "let's not let Turkey really be part of Europe because it's Muslim" thing.
I comfort myself by remembering that, according to their beliefs, my Catholic friends are _allowed_ to 'sin' by using birth control and loving whoever they want, so long as they tell someone about it and apologise five minutes before they die. Three cheers for Confession. (ETA: Yes, I do realise that it's slightly more complicated than that and that there is penance and repentence involved.)

Okay - helped last roommate carry boxes out to car, ran around campus like a chicken with its head cut off returning everything from library books to kayak skirts to various and sundry people, ran down to the bursar's office to see if I still owe the college money (I do), and averted a possible stuff-storage crisis (BoA might be interested to know that the college storage includes out-of-province students as well as international students. Yay.), and now have only to finish putting all the stupid little bits and pieces into either the bin or a suitcase, depending on how much I am attached to the stupid little bit or piece in question.
Roommate took my kettle and a nearly-full box of cereal, because I refuse to travel around with a kettle and I hate throwing out food.
Oh, and I must clean the bathroom. But that's not a problem.
Whew.
