Mar. 5th, 2005 03:13 pmI have finally finished watching "Fruits Basket" - I can't really decide if I liked it or not. I think I'd have liked it a lot better if it wasn't for the main character. I think I'll go see if there's any decent fanfiction out there, now that I won't have the series spoiled for me. I hate reading fic that's further along in a series than I've watched/read, and then knowing what's going to happen. It happened to me with Rurouni Kenshin and I found myself not enjoying the episodes nearly as much because I was waiting for a particular event to happen.
My new cd player is an absolute dream. I can jump up and down and it doesn't skip; my old one didn't either, when it was new, but it got a lot more sensitive and cranky. It's so light, and the headphones are excellent. The only thing I'm worried about is the volume control. It's not a little wheel dealy, but two buttons, which feel exactly the same as the slide for opening the door. I usually keep my player in my coat pocket when I walk, so I'm a bit afraid I'll keep opening it up when all I want to do is change the volume. I'm also not sure how durable those little buttons will be - pressure sensitive devices tend to break more easily than mechanical ones do. Oh well. I went for a walk this morning, when it was sunny. It's snowing now.
I woke up to blue skies and sunlight reflecting off the icicles outside my window. It made for an interesting contrast; there's a snow overhang, and by some trick of optics the icicle looked black, so it was blue, black, and blinding white. Beautiful.
