I'm doomed. Doomed, I tells ya!
Dec. 10th, 2003 06:04 pmI have spent ALL DAY today studying for tomorrows Economics exam.
(Well, except for one brief detour where A. phoned me and said 'do you have the chapter list for the Environmental Studies exam this afternoon?' To which I said 'that's Monday. I'm sure it's Monday. Do not scare me like this. Are you sure? Lemme run down and check and I'll phone you back.' So I did, and came back, and phoned, and said 'It is Monday. The Environmental SCIENCE exam is this afternoon.' Quoth A, 'Fukie fuck.')
A brief history. I have taken three economics classes - one in high school, which I passed only because the teacher liked me and considered me clinically depressed, and agreed to waive one of my bad grades if I went to see the guidance counselor, and two in CEGEP which I failed. Not by very much, but I did fail. Technically, it was the same course which I failed twice, but let's not talk about that.
This will make three economics classes I have failed.
There is not a snowball's chance in hell of me passing that exam tmorrow. I understand two chapters out of eleven. I can tell you that a certain graph looks a certain way, even sketch it, but explain how it changes if I change one of the factors? I couldn't even tell you what each curve represents.
I am doomed to never pass an Economics course.
The only chance I have is that there be lots of multiple choice questions, and not many graph ones... but with this prof (whom I like very much despite the animosity of her subject towards me) that isn't likely.

Can someone explain to me...
Dec. 10th, 2003 06:48 pmjust how a 'high school student with one year of work experience' would be 'adversely affected by the existence of a minimum wage'? (words in quotes belonging to the online quiz which I didn't get the right answer for this question on, emphasis mine)
It seems to me that a high school stdent would be benefited by the minimum wage, as it would ensure that his job would pay him a decent quantity. I picked the 'Person with an MBA' as the person most likely to be adversely affected, as he is likely the one being forced to pay the minimum wage.
Thoughts?

Dec. 10th, 2003 08:10 pmSo so far I'm running about a 6/10 on the multiple-choice quizzes available online, provided by the author of my textbook.
I am doing this without opening said texbook, I might add.
This is bad, very bad. I need an overall 50% to pass my exam (which in turn is worth a full fifty percent of my grade :-/), and I can guarantee multiple choice will not be more than half the points on my exam, and I am quite aware that I will not be able to answer the type f short-answer and essay questions my professor seems to prefer.
Oh dear, oh dear.
