framlingemThree days after my father informs me that my birthday and Christmas present for 2003 (we tend towards one big present in my family... and in this case nowhere near either occasion!) is a laptop, it arrives on my doorstep.
It's BEAUTIFUL!
We still haven't got the network working so I can run it off the cable net, but the phone line works. (It also did not come with the promised Microsoft Word and Excel. Humph.)
And it's MINE. All mine.
Thing is, though, I have to name it. I refuse to name it after a Great Big Sea memmber, or call it DABS after all of them.
Currently it is HAL and the network group is Daisy...
But I'm also thinking of calling it the Merlendd, with Nimue as the network group. Or Mal and Serenity. Suggestions? Votes? (And for those of you who think like my mom, yes, I DO have to name it. My car is Estelle, my stereo system is the Donkey, my laptop needs a name too. The big computers in the house are R2D2 and C3PO.)
