From what I can tell, you're just trying to get your adult life kick-started here. It's time to find your identity (and if you are anything like me, you'll still be wondering what the hell that is 14 years from now) and you are right - you can't do that sitting at home.
For me, college was not about the academics (not as an undergrad, anyway). It was about learning to be social and figuring out who I was. I couldn't possibly have done that sitting at my parents' place and going to the local college.
It'll be hard, but fight for what you want. Because, no matter what happens, you have to live with yourself for the rest of your life. Your parents will probably still talk to you in the end, but right now it might be tough.
