Em's favourite song.
Jul. 10th, 2007 12:42 am(Why yes, I AM on a Youtube kick.)
Since the age of fourteen, when I first heard it (live in concert - second year I was at the same concert series that introduced me to Styx), Yes's "Wonderous Stories" has been my favourite song. There is not a thing about it I don't love. The lyrics? Poetry. The synthesizer? Boggling. Jon Anderson's voice? The dealbreaker. Yegads, that voice. Like a male Joni Mitchell in terms of clarity and control.
This song makes me feel like I'm flying. Video's embedded beneath the cut - I recommend closing your eyes as the audio and video are ever-so-slightly out of synch, but dig Jon Anderson. He's like an Italian Renaissance angel, all light and curly hair.
schemingreader, see if your son jives with this. He loves the Beatles, I know, I bet he'd groove along to this a bit too.
( He spoke of lands not far, nor lands they were in his mind; of fusion captured high, where reason captured his time. )
